Pentagon Memorial

James and I had a nice bike ride up to the Pentagon Memorial.  About 16 miles.
I'm so glad that he has a bike now.

Memorial Day Weekend

We ended up having a really fun weekend... with some service, swimming, a movie night, the missionaries over, family games, a walk to the park, naps, painting with water colors, making butterfly wings, a family bike ride, and BBQ.  I often get more pictures of the girls than the boys... so I made sure to get at least one picture of the boys.  As is often the case, Jonas was reading a book, and Joseph was at the piano.

We recently got a hitch for our minivan, and a bike rack.  Although there were a lot of pedestrians and other bikes on the road, it was a fun adventure to bike down (and up) Beacon hill, over the Wilson Bridge, to the Jones Point Lighthouse, on the George Washington bike trail.  The kids all did a great job!

Kayak Therapy

Since the weather was nice and we weren't with the kids as planned, we thought it would be fun to go out for some kayak therapy.  We had a good time exploring the Potomac near Dyke's Marsh.

Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday I wore one of Grandma Johanson’s dresses to church, to help celebrate Mother’s Day.  I have an amazing mother.  I have been blessed with several women I consider mother-in-laws.  I am grateful for my sister and sister-in-laws.  I have had many teachers, mentors, and friends.  I am so grateful for the righteous example of motherhood.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Good job to Joseph and the REACH Drama Club on their performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream!

Nine Years

We celebrated Hyrum's Birthday between soccer games.  It was one "cool" birthday celebration, with the Frozen movie his mom got him, and the marshmallow snowmen she made.  He also got the walkie talkies and the MP3 player he really wanted.  Joy really enjoyed all the caterpillars, and we all enjoyed the hot dogs and ice cream.

Spring Soccer

The three youngest got to play soccer this year with the recreational league.  It makes for a fun and busy time.
